Day 1 : Paris - Antananarivo

Departure from Paris to Antananarivo. Overnight flight.

Early morning arrival in Antananarivo. Welcome and transfer to the hotel. Breakfast, then departure for a visit to the Queen’s summer palace in Ambohimanga. Lunch, then exploration of Antananarivo, a city surrounded by twelve hills that were once symbols of the power of the Malagasy monarchy.

Departure on a road lined with magnificent rice field landscapes. Stop in Ambatolampy, in the Imerina region. Lunch. Continue to Antsirabe, an important spa resort that you will discover by rickshaw.

Visit a miniature factory and an embroidery workshop. Discover a semi-precious stone carving workshop, then drive to Ambositra. After lunch, visit the cabinetmaking workshops. Continue to Fianarantsoa.

Discover Fianarantsoa, the Malagasy city with the most churches. In Ambalavao, you will visit an antaimoro paper workshop and the Anja reserve, home to maki lemurs and ring-tailed lemurs. Picnic lunch en route and continuation to Ranohira, via the uniform Horombe plateau. Arrival in the late afternoon.
Transfer to Isalo National Park. Here you will discover the natural pool, surrounded by megalithic monuments. Lunch in Ranohira. Visit the interpretation center dedicated to the island’s flora and fauna. At the end of the afternoon, watch the sunset through the “Isalo window.”
After an early breakfast, departure for Tulear. The landscape, dotted with “mushroom” villages built during the sapphire rush, is covered with many species of succulent and thorny plants. Lunch at the hotel in Tulear. Visit the shell market and the Antsokay arboretum.
Depart for Ifaty. Lunch at the hotel and free afternoon to enjoy the beach and lagoon.
Late morning transfer to the airport and flight to Antananarivo. Welcome and transfer to the hotel for lunch. A room will be available for you to use during the day. Stroll through the market to do some last-minute shopping. Dinner at your leisure. In the evening, transfer to the airport and return to Paris.
